Pakistan Vs Bangladesh, Bangladesh on the verge of historic series victory
Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Day 5 Live Score: No sign of rain, Pakistan in all kinds of trouble
Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Day 5 Live Score: It will take a collapse of monumental proportions from Bangladesh for Pakistan to win this match. It isn’t completely unrealistic – despite their poor recent record this is still Pakistan’s home match, remember. For now though, Bangladesh are the clear favourites.
Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Day 5 Live Score Update:
Pakistan made a promising start on Day 5 by claiming two early wickets. However, Bangladesh’s captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Mominul Haque effectively neutralized their threat for the remainder of the session. At lunch, Bangladesh requires just 63 runs to secure victory. Pakistan’s fast bowlers initially managed to stifle the run flow, with Mir Hamza removing Zakir Hasan in the 13th over to end the opening partnership at 58.
Bangladesh began Day 5 at 42/0, chasing a target of 185. Earlier, Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana had been instrumental in dismantling Pakistan’s second innings. On Monday, Hasan Mahmud took 5/43, while Nahid Rana claimed 4/44, contributing to Pakistan’s collapse to 172. Openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam had raced to 42 without loss before play was halted by rain and bad light just after the tea break.
Bangladesh’s win in the first Test was historic, marking their first-ever Test victory in Pakistan and their first 10-wicket win in any Test match. With only two previous away series wins (against the West Indies in 2009 and Zimbabwe in 2021), Bangladesh needs 143 more runs on the final day to clinch the series.
On Day 4, the morning session was dominated by 21-year-old Nahid Rana, who dismissed Shan Masood (28), Babar Azam (11), and Saud Shakeel (2). Pakistan’s overnight score of 9-2 improved to 47-2 after 10 overs on Monday, but Bangladesh then struck with three quick wickets for just 18 runs.
Bangladesh Are 122/2 in Launch Break.
